Our Story

Christopher Sol Smartt left the corporate world to start a business with a soul. His vision was to create a destination for outdoor lovers by merging his passions for sculpture and gardening. Sol’s Texas Institute of Creative Expression, also known as Solstice, was born in October 2007.

Solstice began and existed as a nursery and art gallery for 17 years! The physical location of Solstice in Dripping Springs has recently been transformed into a venue for events and lodging where our outdoor art collection and gardens can still be enjoyed! Please check back for updates on how you can rent out the space for your next gathering.

Solstice continues to provide landscape design and installation services to Austin and the Hill Country.
